VCT Floors

Walk into any commercial facility today, and the odds are really good the floor under your feet is vinyl composition tile (VCT). VCT is a proven flooring choice because of its durability and ease of maintenance. But to sustain its durability and be scratch resistant, VCT needs to be cleaned regularly and maintained properly.

VCT Floor Recoating

Depending on the amount of foot traffic at a particular facility, it is a good idea to recoat the finish periodically. Following a deep scrub of your VCT to remove soil build-up, we apply a high-quality commercial floor polish. We make sure to apply three to five layers of protective finish to prevent damage to the tiles from embedded soil.

Routine VCT Floor Cleaning

Daily cleaning involves thorough sweeping and dust mopping of dirt and soil off VCT surfaces – a crucial step to prevent damage to the tile finish. After dry mopping, we damp mop or auto-scrub the floors using a neutral-impact cleaner to remove particulate left behind. Once clean, the entire floor is rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry thoroughly.

Routine VCT Maintenance

It’s important to routinely strip off the wax that has built-up from repeated maintenance to apply a fresh finish. The VCT is scrubbed with an effective stripping agent. After the stripping solution has been applied, we carefully remove it with a wet vac or auto-scrubber vac. The floor is rinsed with clean water and allowed to dry before three to five coats of floor polish is applied to complete the process.
